“கற்றது கைமண் அளவு, கல்லாதது உலகளவு” or “Katrathu Kai Mann Alavu, Kallathathu Ulagalavu“, is a very old saying going back many centuries ago, by Auvaiyar[1][2]. It literally means “What we have learned is like a handful of earth; What we have yet to learn is like the whole world.“. This quote is an apt reminder that there is way more out there, waiting for us to discover and learn than what we have already learned or think we have learned.
“Once you stop learning, you start dying.” – Albert Einstein[3]
Education does not just start when we first set foot into a nursery, kindergarten or school. Nor does education just end when we complete schooling or obtain our paper qualifications from schools and institutes of higher learning. The process of learning starts from the very day we are born and continues throughout our entire life. Every day there is an opportunity for us to learn or discover something new, as long as we allow ourselves to do so. It matters not as to which stage of life we are in today, be it a student, a junior staff, a senior executive or a retired worker. There is always something new to be learned.
“The more I learn, the more I learn that I need to learn more.” – Anonymous
Here at Thinkersaurus, we are firm believers in the concept of continuous learning or lifelong education. This is a guiding principle for us, as we share our own experiences and knowledge with all those who are willing to spare some time and lend an ear to listen to us. It is no surprise, that the more we share with others, we also get to learn along the way, through our interaction with others as well as from the unanswerable questions from others that we need to seek answers for. It truly is ironic is it not, that the more we learn, the more we learn that we need to learn more.
